INTERVIEW WITH ANKIT KUMAR SRIVASTVA
CONTRIBUTING POET OF JEREMIAD OF HEARTS
A short and sweet introduction of yourself. *
I’m an engineer just completed my B-tech (fresher). I was born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. I’m also a NCC Cadet. Writing is my hobby since I was in 9th class. Other than writing I like to travel and make new friends. Ilike to share my feelings and try to understand the same from the other person. I like to do what challenges me whether it is right or wrong. Looking forward to achieve my target and create a positive image in my readers heart.
When did you first start writing? *
During my school days. My Hindi teacher inspired me to write, in 9th standard.
Do you remember what you wrote first? *
It was a poem(Hindi) based on friendship. I don’t remember the exact words now.
How did you get interested in writing? *
From my teacher’s motivation and my parents support. They always give me tips and suggestions.
Who or what has been inspiration? *
My Hindi teacher and parents.
Who are your favorite authors/poets? Why? *
Mainly I am much inspired by Harivansh Rai bachan, Ramdhari sing ‘dinkar’ and Hariom Panwar. There are few other’s too.
How do you feel when you write? *
Writing gives me relaxation. I feel that if used properly and wisely writings are only way to preserve the history, and make the future while living in the present. Writings are so powerful that it can change ones thought and way of thinking or perceiving. I’m trying to make my writing to such a level.
What are your other hobbies? *
Reading books, playing chess, and running.
How did you feel when you got your selection mail? *
It gives me immense pleasure as this is my first time I’m very much excited and hoping for the best.
What do you think about poetry? *
A simple and interesting way to share the feelings. A huge can be said in simple and few words without making any one feel bored .
Do you think rhymes are important for poems? Why so? *
It’s not necessary. But if the situation demands then it should be there as it gives a phonetic sound and make a poetry more interesting to the readers/listeners.
A few words for your readers? *
Readers criticism and suggestions are always welcome. I’m looking forward to that. And always remember ” A person can die/be killed but his/her thoughts never die.” So let your thoughts reach to the world and let’s make a positive change in our society. And help in building a wonderful and great nation.
What do you wish to say to budding writers? *
All the best and I hope readers will like our work and we will write together in future too.
