I am doing my PhD in Emotive Language and Poetry. I have passion toward literature. I want to represent the voice of common man in my writings.
When did you first start writing? *
At the age of 16
Do you remember what you wrote first? *
How did you get interested in writing? *
By reading some revolutionary books
Who or what has been inspiration? *
Khalil Gibran , Kannadasan
Who are your favorite authors/poets? Why? *
Gibran, Kannadasan, Manjusha Babu, Arundhathi Subramaniam
How do you feel when you write? *
Relaxed. I convey and share the emotions of common people
What are your other hobbies? *
Reading , Playing Cricket
How did you feel when you got your selection mail? *
Feeling happy and thought that I will get one more platform
What do you think about poetry? *
Poetry is something which you can’t describe or think over that. Poetry is life, just love it.
Do you think rhymes are important for poems? Why so? *
No . You can’t compel your thoughts to be in rhythmic or with any poetic devices. I don’t believe in decorating the nature to look beautiful. You should enjoy the nature as it is
A few words for your readers? *
Read and reread. Don’t fall in love with particular writer/ writing. Read everything. Nothing is waste or boring. If you feel so, just try to experience it.
What do you wish to say to budding writers? *
Write from your heart. Don’t write for publishers, prizes and awards. Be bold enough to express your thoughts. Don’t ever try to convince your readers
