A short and sweet introduction of yourself. *
Hello, I’m Suraj Roy. I am basically a student & I like reading and travelling.
When did you first start writing? *
Approximately at the age of 18.
Do you remember what you wrote first? *
The fear of being lost in the uncertain future is knocking on my door & I’m fading away.
How did you get interested in writing? *
When no-one was there to understand my feelings, I started writing them down on the paper.
Who or what has been inspiration? *
My cousin brother always inspired me.
Who are your favorite authors/poets? Why? *
I am a Bengali so my personal favourite is obviously Rabindranath Tagore. From my childhood I have read a lot of his poems, songs & stories and eventually he became my favourite.
How do you feel when you write? *
It’s an outburst of what I feel deep inside.
What are your other hobbies? *
Reading books, travelling etc.
How did you feel when you got your selection mail? *
I never thought that it would get selected but when it finally did, It felt as a dream is coming true.
What do you think about poetry? *
It is the only thing that can fight with the ravages of time.
Do you think rhymes are important for poems? Why so? *
Actually I write in free verse because I’m still a beginner & I haven’t yet acquired the rhyming skills.
A few words for your readers? *
Well I’m just a beginner & I wish my readers to enjoy my writings.
What do you wish to say to budding writers? *
Just keep up the good work.
