INTERVIEW WITH MANJUSHA C B
CONTRIBUTING POET OF JEREMIAD OF HEARTS
A short and sweet introduction of yourself. *
I’m pursuing my Doctorate in Education and Language born and brought up in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. My interests include reading, writing, photography and travelling. I started penning down my voice from her early teenage. My poems can be read in online platforms like poetry hunter. My works “AnsQuest”, “Dark-Lit World” and “Your Darwin’s Parable” are published in different Anthologies. I’m an independent person who loves taking up challenges to add experiences to the book of her life. Like a phoenix, I strive to keep rising though burnt myriads of times.
When did you first start writing? *
At the age of 12
Do you remember what you wrote first? *
“My White Choco Pie” …. Mommy, I loved the white pie you made With those sugar and cherries sprinkled Like the dew on white rose… I love, I love and love That white choco pie…
How did you get interested in writing? *
Well, it was after seeing my Uncle and Dad writing letters for official and personal purposes ( for relatives and friends). The way they explained things, their choice of words and so on made me to put my random thoughts through words and then on my interest in writing enhanced.
Who or what has been inspiration? *
My dreams are my inspiration. They drive me to reach heights no matter how many times I fall.
Who are your favorite authors/poets? Why? *
To name a few – Kahlil Gibran, Kannadasan, Milton, Keats,Arundhati Roy, Mohankumar
How do you feel when you write? *
I feel like a Phoenix because I burn my thoughts to express them through my words. It’s like giving birth to offsprings through those ashes. I feel that I’m having a new birth everytime I write.
What are your other hobbies? *
Reading, Travelling, Photography, Letter writing and Singing
How did you feel when you got your selection mail? *
Happiness cannot be expressed through words!!! It was like I’m about to reach myriads of minds through those little words I wrote.
What do you think about poetry? *
Poetry is the song of life.. one who writes; creates the Maya and one who reads; travels to that Maya. Poetry is a beautiful abstract feel.
Do you think rhymes are important for poems? Why so? *
I really don’t think that rhymes are important for poems. A poet can write a poem even in form of verse paragraph. It’s all matter of thoughts that flows down through pen with no hard core rules. Creativity is to be celebrated embracing the mess of it.
A few words for your readers? *
Read to live your life, Read to design your life, Read to say – “yes, I have lived beyond the horizon and I don’t mind giving a try.” Read to understand life is to be explored, experienced and enhanced. Let’s meet through words.
What do you wish to say to budding writers? *
Forget the rules, forget what will be the response, forget everything.. just write for you have observed or experienced something which others haven’t. Let your thoughts flow, spread life. Cheers to Writing!!!
