INTERVIEW WITH RADHIKA GUTTA

CONTRIBUTING AUTHOR OF JEREMIAD OF HEARTS

A short and sweet introduction of yourself. *

Firstly, I am very proud to be a girl , a woman. I believe all that which drives life on this planet is LOVE. I don’t believe in being responsible but in being lovable. Responsibilities without love are burden. But those with love are the roads to happiness. Concluding, I am a lovable, lovely and loving woman.

When did you first start writing? *

In school , I participated in a few essay writing competitions. But then, I started writing poems to express all the feelings suppressed in me.

Do you remember what you wrote first? *

No

How did you get interested in writing? *

I started writing to put my emotions on paper and I read those a few days later. This helped me gain control over emotions. But slowly, I started writing to overcome the stress I had. Finally, writing became my medicine to make me happy.

Who or what has been inspiration? *

When I decided to write, all I had was my past and present in mind. No other story. So I can say, The situations of my life are inspirations for me.

Who are your favorite authors/poets? Why? *

Amish Tripathy is the author whom I admire the most. His novels take me in so deep that I see characters playing around me. The way he chooses his words is amazing.

How do you feel when you write? *

Relieved. Stress free. Hopeful.

What are your other hobbies? *

I also write songs. Dancing is my favourite activity.

How did you feel when you got your selection mail? *

I’ve written many poems but I never thought of publishing them. But when I recieved the mail, I felt encouraged to write more, this time not for me but for the people. It was really a great boost up.

Do you think rhymes are important for poems? Why so? *

Rhyming gives the poem a fine polish. But it’s not compulsory. The poem should be touching and the reader should be able to get connected with it.

A few words for your readers? *

No audience. No artists. Similarly, No readers. No writers. Every writer is a reader. Thank you for encouraging us to write more and more on behalf of all the writers.

What do you wish to say to budding writers? *

No work is complete until started. So never get discouraged.
